Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our tours
Yes, you can try the Kölsch beer in each beer house for a small price (expect €2.50 per Kölsch including tip).
Yes, our tours run rain or shine! Please check the weather forecast and bring suitable clothing. On nice days we will try to get seats on the terrace.
Our regular public tours last around 2.5 hours. Please inform your guide if you need to end the tour early. Private guided tours last at least 2 hours and can be extended on request. Simply select the desired duration when booking.
The route itself is rather short: the tour covers a total distance of around 1 kilometer (approx. 10 – 15 minutes walking time), so there is still enough time to enjoy the beer houses.
You are very welcome, our tours are a great opportunity to get to know other travelers! Please note, however, that we have a minimum number of 3 guests per tour. It is highly unlikely, but if there are no further bookings, the tour may not take place. In such a case, we will inform you in good time and either give you the opportunity to take part in another tour or refund the booking in full.
Of course, traditional pubs and beer houses serve soft drinks and wine – even if they don’t like it. But beware: these drinks are more expensive than beer (yes, even water and soft drinks!).
You must be at least 18. Minors can take part in the tour if accompanied by their parents.
We have found that different groups drink different amounts and there are even people who don’t drink beer at all 😮 To simplify the whole thing, offer you more flexibility and be able to offer you a cheaper tour, we have decided to offer the tours without drinks included.
We want to be transparent: In the breweries, we pay the same price for the Kölsch as any other guest. The inclusive drinks would incur additional costs for us, e.g. for accounting or payment fees when booking. In order to offer the tour with 4 inclusive Kölsch, we would have to offer it at a significantly higher price. Calculate with 2,50€ per Kölsch (incl. tip for the Köbes).
Unfortunately, we cannot guide you to the breweries. Although some breweries offer guided tours, these are often fully booked weeks or even months in advance. Instead, we take you to the charming breweries and traditional pubs where you can experience the authentic hospitality of our beer culture. Because that is the heart of beer enjoyment in Cologne! You can visit breweries all over the world, and they often look similar. But the places we show you often have a history as former breweries.
